What are some of the cataract symptoms?

Major and most prominent symptom is the weakness of the vision. Many people have a weakness in distant vision, while the near vision remains quite good till even the time when the lens opacity has very much progressed.
Cataracts do not cause headaches; there is no eye pain. However, many people initially develop weakness of vision and need glasses. When they don’t use the glasses then their eyes have to focus. This focusing struggle causes headache in many people. This pain is actually due to the weakness of the eyes and not due to the cataract.
Many patients complain of glare and halos and things. Particularly while driving at night, the lights spread, which makes it difficult for them to drive. This may even result into some accidents and casualties. Driving motorcycle becomes tortuous. Elders find it difficult to leave the house at night.
Sometimes when you look at an object, shadows appear. The moon looks doubled. There are spots on things. Focusing on things nearby becomes difficult.
There is also a marked change in the appearance of the eye. When looking at the eye carefully, the pupil appears white.
